The Georgetown Public Library
Project Date: May 2025

As my final studio assignment of my fourth semester, we were tasked with designing a public library located in Georgetown, Washington D.C.

My primary focus for my design was the integration of natural light to illuminate the space, and adapting themes of literature into this library.

I first started with this parti of two halves. After visiting some local libraries, specifically Tenleytown Public Library, I noticed that there was a continuous trend of separating the open, public space and the closed, private spaces. It makes sense to me to have that clear division of where the circulation would be and where the program elements would be contained, so I decided on this parti of cutting the overall site in half and using the respective halves for different things. While the elements within the halves changed throughout the process, the core idea remains.

The Plans

1/8th Scale Model

Softwares Used: Floorplans, elevations and sections made in AutoCAD, labeled and edited in Adobe Illustrator. 3D Model made in Rhino 8, rendered in Enscape. Renders post-processed in Adobe Photoshop.

The Water Pavilion
Project Date: November 2024

As my final studio assignment of my third semester, we were given a site that is on campus and tasked with designing a pavilion for students and outside guests alike.

When designing an outdoor space, I wanted to keep most of the pavilion open to air flow but have a firm layout that makes sense to visitors.

1/16th Scale Model

Softwares Used: Plan, elevation and section made in AutoCAD and Rhino 8, labeled and edited in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. 3D Model made in Rhino 8, rendered in Enscape and Adobe Photoshop.

The Poetry Wall
Project Date: January 2025

A model-driven project, the Poetry Wall is an inhabitable wall in which guests can find and read books.

Being a smaller footprint, this wall is intended to be able to be moved around and visit different locations.
